Luke 15:1-10 & 20-24
As Christ was seated with
Publicans and Sinners, those looked down upon as the worst
of the worst, the religious leaders accused Him of doing
something wrong.
(vs 2)
They meant it as condemning Jesus, but it was on of the
greatest compliment given to Christ.
(Luke 19:10)
Notice that verses 4, 6, 9, & 24 contain the same word :
Lost.
(Romans 3 and
Ephesians 2) are
just tow place so many in the bible which teach our
greatest need of a Savior to reconcile us to God.
*These three parables give us the picture of divine truth
and work by the True Vine God : God - the Son, God - the
Holy Spirit, and God - the Father.

[Three Thoughts Revealed] |
1. The Lord sees us
The lost sheep, the lost coin, the lost son, all three
reveal the Lord seeing our tragic life without Him: Lost
(Proverbs 15:3)
*In our lost condition, with all the sinful things we’ve
done, across eternity of time, God loved us.
(I John 4:10, I
John 3:1)
2. The Lord seeks us
(vs 4-6)
The 1st story
reveals the Son of God as the Good Shepherd
(John 10)
*There was no
way to find us without the Cross.
The 2nd story reveals God the Holy Spirit
(vs 8)
The house
represents darkness
| (1) |
The woman lights a candle. |
| (2) |
She penetrates the darkness. |
| (3) |
She sweeps diligently to
find the coin that was lost. |
The Holy Spirit
| (1) |
Seeks us |
| (2) |
Stays after us |
| (3) |
Draws us out of darkness |
*There is no place we
can hide:
(Psalms 139:1-8)
The 3rd story reveals God the Father
(vs 18-21)
Sin always wastes a life, this son had a need none could
meet.
(vs 17)
“he came to himself”
(Ephesians 2:4)
3. The Lord Saves us
(vs 6,9,20)
There are many
who are staggering thru life with the sorrow, heartaches,
and burden of sin. But there is nothing you have ever done
that could cancel God’s love for you.
(vs 21-24)
(John 3:16)
